Katie Pickett is a Master of Geographic Information Systems (MGIS) degree and Graduate Certificate holder from the University of Central Arkansas where she studied sociocultural and political implications of various indices utilizing quantifiable and qualitative data. Ms. Pickett obtained a Bachelor of Art's from the University of New Orleans in International Studies where she concentrated on Africana studies, conflict theory, and human development. She earned an Undergraduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing from the Department of Geography at the University of New Orleans in 2013. Ms. Pickett is currently studying for the GIS Certificate Institute (GISCI) GISP® (Certified GIS Professional) exam.
Ms. Pickett's expertise began with a role in the 2010 United States Census, has expanded as a master's of Geographic Information Systems (MGIS) degree holder, and by providing clients and beneficiaries around the world with market-driven research and planning, public health, urban settlement, land tenure, agricultural development, and environmental degradation mapping analysis deliverables.
She has worked, studied, and traveled around the globe seeking knowledge and gaining continued humility from compassionate and open citizens. She is a native English speaker who strives to perfect her written and spoken Kiswahili, dabbling in French from time-to-time. Born and raised in southwest Louisiana on the cusp of Cajun Country and eastern Texas, Katie adopted New Orleans as her American hometown half a decade ago.
